Tenor Drum

Tenor drums used in pipe bands were originally rope-tensioned, but now have modern rod tension. DTPB has flourishing tenor drummers who use beaters on the end of drum sticks, which are tied to the fingers. Tenor drummers flourish the beaters in coordinated movements, while striking the drum, to add "spectacle" to the drum corps. The tenors support the pulse of the bass drum, often adding beats, accents, and dynamic interest.
